Summer Gardens

Just thought I would sit down with a glass of wine, wind down and talk about a lovely weekend we had this summer.  Sunday was spent wandering around the pretty local village of Minster with our very good friends  as it was open gardens, so whilst dodging showers in many a gardeners shed or greenhouse where we learnt new flowers or an invaluable tip to take away with us.  We looked at some truly beautiful gardens, with roses in full bloom glistening in the breaks of sunshine  with jewel drops of rain, red roses smelling of turkish delight and an abundance floribunda it was a lovely way to spend a Sunday, and testimony to the gardeners hours and hours of hard work.  We ended the afternoon at one truly eccentric garden complete with waterfall, stream and a fantastic local singer who entertained us all with her singing and banter with the audience. By the end of the day I came away very inspired (not sure if this was the wine or the gardens) and our shop window is how an array of pretty flower planters with fragrant lavender and pink geraniums all from my local nursery which is located at the farm where we live and work.  So our Herne Bay shop looks and smells as lovely as the summer gardens of my Sunday afternoon.
